What is the Amber Noosphere?

The Amber Noosphere is multilingual web-encyclopedia, behaving on "wiki" principle. Its subject is human activity in historic regions Western and Eastern Prussia.

Although there are similar principles of work, graphical design and structure, the Amber Noosphere differs from Wikipedia:

1. Narrow specialization. When Wikipedia is to provide, generally, brief information about all realizeble themes, then Amber Noosphere concentrates just on historic regions of Western and Eastern Prussia. Occuring in other regions isn't describing. Beyond that, attention is firstly paying to just human activity. Natural sciences, appliable to concrete region (e. g., geografy) is a secondary branch of encyclopedia.
2. Inclusionism. The well-known issue of Wikipedia editing is article notability. There is a number of criteria for differernt subjects, how the notability could be measured and, in case they aren't matched, an article could be deleted. Since the Amber Noosphere's scope is more "minor", then fair notability is increasing. For example, article about street in Wikipedia would be admitted as notable just not in evert case, in spite of AN.
3. Enhanced multilinguality. Historically, in Wikipedia lingual detchment stays beyond article fullfillmentness. Its global status and imperfectionness of MediaWiki software, used by local encyclopedias, also encourage this. Improvements of last one are progressing, and Amber Noosphere uses a tool, maintained for better work of users-speakers of different languages—extension "Translate". It lets, for a while, to see a page on Lithuanian for user from Lithuania and, if desired, add translation. In future, the user like this will have possibility to change not translation only, but a body of article also.

Каждый может изменить практически любую страницу на Янтарной ноосфера (и не только статью). При этом таких людей точнее было бы назвать вкладчиками, а не авторами, так как они создают только изменение в статью, но не саму информацию. Следовательно, Янтарная ноосфера (как и Википедия) не может являться источником информации — здесь лишь собрана информация из других источников.

Кто ею управляет?

Этот проект был основан Сергеем Румянцевым осенью 2014 года на вики-хостинге Викия. Техническое администрирование, оплата хостинга до текущего времени производится им же на добровольных личных началах.
